About
So, you want to know more about me. Are you sure?
Okay then, I am dr. Henk van Dijken. I am not a cyborg, nor a zen monk…
I probably never will be.
I just like simple structure, but I also like complex chaos…
… because you can (re)structure it.
I also like to create (a lot of) drawings. You can call this modeling, if you like.
I like modeling the real world. To “capture” its structure into one ore more diagrams accompanied with some storytelling. Some call me a software architect, being a creator of a fundamental structure for coding.
Maybe. Don’t feel like one. Most of the times I feel more like an interpreter.
I just like transforming business requirements into technique in a simple way.
It appears that I am very successful at that. …and storytelling with an abundance of drawings, of course…
In my opinion it is all about communication, forming a bridge between the business and technology. So I try to write complex things down in a simple way. I think communication should be as simple as possible, but not simpler.
I see a lot of people get stuck in complexity and/or oversimplyfication.
In essence this is the art and beauty of modeling the real world in a balanced zen-simple way.
That’s all. Nothing more, nothing less.
